International Women's Day in Batley and Spen
International Women’s Day is an annual celebration of women’s achievements over the years but also the chance for communities to come together and confront the challenges we still face as a society regarding gender.
To celebrate International Women's Day in 2010 Mike Wood MP is organising an event for local people to come and discuss their views on women's issues.
The event will feature a range of inspiring local and national speakers from a variety of political, media and community backgrounds to come and share their experiences in relation to women.
Displays by local artists and stands from organisations involved with women's issues will also be included. Refreshments and a light lunch will also be served at this free event for all!
